What differentiates a screen plasma from our old good
screen?
The screen plasma has as for technical denomination: PDP (Plasma
Display Panel)
It is composed of two transparent material sheets between which
pixels are laid out in honeycomb
Each one of these pixels is composed of three coloured envelopes
in red, green and blue,
filled of a mixture of inert gases: neon and xenon.
Each one of these envelopes is crossed by an electrical current
which makes
lose with the gas molecules of the electrons:
the gas then takes this texture which is indicated under the name:
PLASMA.
The gas by losing these electrons emits the ultra purple ones
which excite
the layer of phosphorus located at the bottom of the envelope
which illuminates
and creates thus a red light, blue or green. The intensity of
this light varies according
to the number and from the tension of the pulses.
There are 256 levels per color is a total of 256 X 256 X 256 = 16,7
million possible colors...!
Thus, the image is not create line by line as on a TV traditional
but entirely displayed
into only once by a simultaneous stimulation of all the pixels.
This digital image obtained without analog conversion is a
guarantee of great quality.
This technology explains why the screen plasma is the only one
with being really flat:
4 to 6 centimeter thickness and gets an image of an exceptional
quality
as well in the accordance with the luminosity as of the contrast
or of the angle of vision (up to 160 dégrés).
Lastly, the majority of the screens plasma support the signals
data processing
and you could easily find flat monitors.
